Singing to a ghost.

Hello. I came upon your profile on DA, and I really like your site, by the way.
Anyway, I do have a story to tell, if that is OK.

My family just moved into a large house built in 1863, and, of course, with a house this old, there are rumors of people dying here. Well, before we moved in, I remember hearing a child singing upstairs, but when I went upstairs, there was of course no one there. There were a few times after we moved in that I felt some sort of presence, but I never saw anything.
Then, about a month and a half ago, I was in the kitchen (it was nighttime and I was the only one home), and I felt the presence stronger than before. It seemed to me to be a girl, about eleven or twelve, with shoulder-legth light brown hair. She was really upset, understandably. So, I stood there for a moment, 'listening', and an idea came to me. She seemed to be lost, so I started singing, on a whim. I sang, and I could feel her become calm, and then after several minutes, she was gone. I haven't felt her presence since.

Of course, I could have just imagined her, but I don't think I did. I never did SEE anything unusual, though, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything, does it? Does anyone else have any opinions on this?

That is a truly touching story, and most unique. Someone who lends comfort when they don't even know if it's real, is special indeed. That's the thing with most of these kinds of encounters, we have to base them on what we feel.... This story has inspired me, and I hope it does others as well.
(Btw, sorry it took so long for me to respond, but I've been down with a killed chest cold for the last bit, and I'm still catching up :-) )
Blessings All.
